Applications:[2-(5-Benzyloxy-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]dimethylamine has a potential ability to inhibit the oxidation of tryptamine and 5-hydroxytryptamine by suspensions of guinea-pig liver and rat fundus. Also, it is an intermediate used in the synthesis of Bufotenine Hydrochloride (B689465), which is a weak hallucinogenic agent active by intravenous injection. It is a constituent of toad poison.
